Clearwater Beach, Florida -- A mother and her daughter were rescued Saturday after a watercraft incident in the intracoastal off Sand Key, officials said.
According to preliminary reports, the two were on rented jetskis and apparently collided near a small island east of the Sand Key Bridge.
Marine Units from engine companies 44 and 46 were dispatched to the scene, and brought the two to the U.S. Coast Guard station on Sand Key.
They were transferred to an ambulance and taken to Morton Plant Hospital, according to city spokesperson Joelle Castelli.
A witness told wtsp.com the mother apparently suffered a leg injury and her daughter a minor injury to her ankle.
