Brooksville, Florida -- Strong storms across the bay area hit a community in Brooksville hard, causing some families to evacuate their homes.
Camper's Holiday, a 55+ community just south of Brooksville, was hit hard with 80 out of 300 units being evacuated. The area received 7 inches of rain in only 2 hours and some residents used boats to evacuate their homes.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is working to survey damages in the county and residents are encouraged to report damage to the Emergency Operations Center at (352) 754-4083.
Sandbags are available at the Brooksville Fire Department and the shelter located at the First United Methodist Church, 109 S. Broad Street is open to those displaced by the flood.
Road currently close in the area are:
- Culbreath Rd at the Pasco County line
- Saturn Rd at the East end
- Clinton Rd/Providence Blvd
- Ft Dade Avenue/Cobb east of the intersection
