The eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 near Mango were reopened at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The lanes were closed for nearly a dozen hours Monday due to construction problems. Florida Highway Department of Transportation officials said the lanes buckled as crews moved a utility line underground.

Update: Traffic on I-4 is once again moving. The two center lanes are still closed at this time.

Traffic is backed up for miles on Interstate 4 because of what the Department of Transportation is calling a "construction mishap."

Currently one lane of I-4 eastbound at Williams Road is shut down due to a buckling up in the pavement. FDOT says it was caused by a utility line being moved underground.

Crews are expected to have the lines repaired by late this evening, which means traffic is likely to remain a mess through rush hour. Traffic is getting by, but very slowly.

The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the call, with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office assisting in traffic.
