Two killed in Pinellas Co. crash

A car pulled in front of another vehicle on U.S. 19, and two people are dead.

Two people have died after a crash Friday afternoon in Pinellas County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. when a 2004 Jaguar with driver Henry Paris, 78, and passenger Patricia Paris, 79, both of Clearwater, was northbound on U.S. 19 south of Curlew Road. It attempted to turn left into the driveway of Doral Village, 29250 U.S. Highway 19, and turned into the path of a 2007 Ford driven by Charles E. Prugh, 63, of Clearwater.

The Ford struck the driver's side of the Jaguar. Patricia Paris died at the scene. Henry Paris was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he died.

Prugh was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries.

Southbound U.S. 19 is partially closed as the investigation continues.
