An Uber driver is accused of tampering with the window of a home where he had just dropped off two women, St. Petersburg police said.
Early Sunday, police said, Christopher Thomas Cuccorillo, 40, dropped off the women at a condo building. Shortly thereafter, one of the the women heard someone tampering with a rear window of the residence, then saw Cuccorillo walking in the back area, police said.
The area is surrounded by a 6-foot fence and is not within the public view, police said.
After being read his rights, Cuccorillo said he had been asked by the women to check on their welfare because they were intoxicated, police said. The women, however, denied they had asked him to check on them.
Police also said Cuccorillo's story changed several times during the investigation. He was charged with loitering and prowling and released after posting $250 bail.
