Naked man watching joggers, fondling self, police say

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Columbia police are warning early-morning joggers in some of the city's nicer neighborhoods to be on the lookout for a naked man.

Police Chief Randy Scott said two women have reported the man didn't have any clothes on and was fondling himself as he watched them jog before 6:45 a.m.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s about 5-foot-8 with a medium build and possibly balding. The women say he was standing near bushes when they saw him.

Investigators think the man may quickly change into jogging shorts or pants so he can blend in with others in the neighborhood.

Scott says the man hasn't harmed anyone, but police worry his behavior could escalate if he is not caught.
