SACRAMENTO, CA (CBS13) - A Sacramento resident has been arrested after he allegedly tried to bring police to a property dispute more quickly by telling 911 an officer had been injured, authorities said.
The Sacramento Police Department said 44-year-old Rayard Simmons was in an argument with another man on his property on the 4300 block of Pell Drive when he called emergency dispatchers, claiming that an "officer is down. You know what that means."
Authorities said Simmons was lying in an attempt to have police race out to his property.
Simmons was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of falsely reporting an emergency and on a felony count of parole violation. He is being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a $20,000 bond.
