HOUSTON, TX (KENS5) -- A young mom is accused of leaving her child in the car while she went inside a tattoo parlor to get a body piercing -- not to mention she was also drunk and seven months pregnant.
Workers at the tattoo parlor said the woman appeared heavily intoxicated when she walked in and started asking strange questions about how long the piercing would take.
"Why would you ask me how long would it take because there is nobody in here?" said tattoo artist Yogi. "And she said, 'Because I have a baby in the car.' That's when I asked her who's watching the baby. She said nobody, the baby is asleep."
The workers asked the woman to leave and then called police.
Officers arrived and found the woman asleep behind the wheel of her car in the parking lot. Her 10-month-old was also asleep, unrestrained, in the front passenger seat.
Police said they found several beer bottles and some Xanax in the woman's car.
She was arrested and the child was taken by Child Protective Services.
