(USA TODAY) -- A Florida man strapped for cash and running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives changed his name to "VoteForEddie.com," The Miami Herald reports.
The man formerly known as Eddie Gonzalez, described by the paper as an "unknown independent," is up against popular Republican incumbent Rep. Mario Diaz Balart.
VoteForEddie.com faced the election with little money so he decided to change his name to his website and twitter handle.
He then successfully petitioned a judge to have his new name placed on the ballot, the paper reports.
Apparently, he's the first candidate in Florida to be named for a website.
