Fairfield, OH - Amanda Crain says she had picked up a burrito bowl at a Chipotle on Dixie Highway in fairfield on April 19th and when she got to work and started to eat it, this is what she found, a razor blade.
"I spit my food back out and had realized I had bitten into a razor blade."
Ms. Crain has documentation that she went to an Urgent Care Center, that she filed a police report and that even though she's had almost two months, she says she's not gotten a lawyer because she likes Chipotle and doesn't want money from them. However, she was not happy at all at the company's response to her.
"They contacted me. They wanted to give me a hundred dollars and pretty much have me send back the razor blade that was in my food that I did take home with me. I took home all the documentation. But they wanted me to send that to them and basically never discuss it or talk about it again."
She also wrote down an employee and a manager's name who both said they cleaned their grills with razor blades.
She's a professional woman and said she didn't like their idea of dealing with problems which on a Chipotle incident report that she filled out says: take the customer seriously, listen to the customer, and attempt to make the customer happy by offering burrito bucks, a manager comp, or a refund.
In a statement, Chipotle told WXIX in Ohio that the safety and well-being of its customers is its highest priority. The company also said Crain has not provided any information to help Chipotle review her claim.
