FLINT, Mich. -- Police say a man was attacked with a frying pan after stopping a woman from lighting fireworks inside his apartment in Flint.

The Flint Journal reports police were called Sunday night and found a 20-year-old woman being detained by security guards.

According to police, a 21-year-old man told them he slapped the fireworks from the woman's hand. A police report says the woman then threw a frying pan at the man, hitting him in the head.

The man was treated at a local hospital, where he got stitches to his head. Police say the woman was taken into custody following the attack.
