ORLANDO, Florida (WKMG) - Police
arrested a transgender housekeeper at an International Drive hotel
after they say he touched a 14-year-old boy inappropriately.
Vanessa
Olmos, 35, was arrested at the Days Inn on the 5800 block of I-Drive on
Wednesday afternoon after Orlando police received a call from the boy's
mother that Olmos touched the genitals of her son.
Orlando
police told our sister station WKMG Local 6 Olmos said he's a man who lives as a woman and that
he hasn't gone by his real name, "Christopher" since moving to the US
from Mexico.
According
to the report, the victim heard Olmos say "room service" outside of
their room and the victim told her to "come in." Olmos asked if they had
any dirty towels and if the victim was alone, which he was, according to
the police report. Olmos then asked "Can I touch?" The victim
responded, "touch what?"
Police
said Olmos then grabbed the victim's genitals on the outside of his
shorts and said "you hot." The victim then responded "you're weird" and
walked to the bathroom, waiting for Olmos to leave, according to the
report.
Police
said they spoke to the victim's mother, who said she had already swapped
out towels with Olmos before the incident. Olmos said he had never
touched the victim or entered the room.
Olmos was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 16 and battery.
The victim wasn't injured.
Local
6 spoke to some tourists in the area staying at the same Days Inn. They
said staying at the hotel after the incident makes them feel uneasy.
"Especially
when here are a lot of tourists and kids around, I think hotels overall
they should be more careful who they hire," said Isabel Almonte.
