Osceola County, Florida - They came to testify, but ended up throwing punches when a brawl broke out outside a Florida courtroom. 

The witnesses were there for a hearing in a "Stand Your Ground" case; that's Florida's controversial  law allowing people to use deadly force when they feel a reasonable threat of death or serious injury. 

After Monday's hearing was canceled, the punches started flying between the families of the suspect and the victims. The Orlando Sentinel reports that a detective who investigated the case was knocked to the floor, and several others were injured.

Officers at the courthouse stepped in and arrested three men, including a man who left on a stretcher with a possible broken jaw. 

The Osceola Sheriff's Office says the men were charged with a misdemeanor count of affray.

Authorities say Jayson Clair fatally shot Joel and James Kun, who were unarmed, outside a St. Cloud bar in June 2011 after they got into several fights throughout the evening.

Clair claims he acted in self-defense, but police and witness reports state Clair left the bar and returned later with a loaded gun before the fatal confrontation.
