Keene, TX - This traffic stop on August 19th on started like most.

Sergeant Gene Geheb pulled over 77-year-old Lynn Bedford. The officer's dash and chest cam are rolling.

As Sergeant Geheb walks up to the vehicle Bedford starts in:

Bedford: "Alright let's hurry up, I've got to go to the bathroom."
Geheb:  "Let me see your driver's license and insurance please"
Bedford: "I have a bladder infection."
Geheb: "Let me see your driver's license, please."
Bedford: "You listen to me."
Geheb: "No. I want your driver's license and insurance, please. Then I will listen to you."
Bedford: "Why?  Why are you going to wait?"
Geheb: "Let me see your driver's license."
Bedford: "I will give it to you in a minute."
Geheb: "You are going to give it to me now, or I'm taking you to jail."
Bedford: "Well, go ahead."

Sergeant Geheb then opens the car door and grabs Bedford by the arm.

Geheb: "Step out of the vehicle. Get out of the vehicle. Get out of the vehicle."

Geheb keeps pulling Bedfords arm.

Bedford: "You are hurting me"
Geheb: "Get out of the vehicle."
Bedford:  "I'm going to report you for hurting me."
Geheb: "Okay. Step out of the vehicle."
Bedford: "You twisted my arm"

Seconds later the sergeant pulls Bedford out of the vehicle.

Geheb: "You're under arrest"

Bedford's attorney Clay Graham says the officer went too far.

"She's very disappointed to learn that instead of being protected or served she's basically antagonized and assaulted."

Graham says Sergeant Geheb had other options.

"Which would have been get back in the squad car, follow her home, follow her to the nearest comfort room and let her use the restroom and then issue a citation or do whatever he had discretion to do."

Keene Police turned down our request for an on camera interview but the department's chief sent WFAA a statement-

"The incident has been reviewed thoroughly by the Keene Police Department and the City of Keene Administration. All parties have concluded that Sgt. Geheb did not violate any state laws or department policies, and in fact was following department policy in regards to violators not providing information."

On the day of the stop the chief went to the scene.

After talking to both parties, Bedford was released and she received citations for speeding and failing to show ID.
