POMPANO BEACH, Florida (CBSMiami) - A giant eyeball that washed up
in Pompano Beach in October earned the title of National Geographic's Weirdest Story of 2012, beating out the discovery of a 750-legged
millipede and a two-faced cat - two of the top ten on the list.

The grapefruit-sized eyeball was discovered by a man walking along
the beach and inspired days of speculation about its source. Turns out
it came from a large swordfish.
"For being justifiably weird, gross, and mysterious all at the same
time," National Geographic's editors wrote, "the giant eyeball is our
weirdest story of 2012."
