Florida tops Strangest States list

Florida tops the list of strange states, according to a website that looked into such things.

Tableseed.com said it analyzed nearly 2,000 Associated Press stories released in the past year, and found Florida the runaway winner when it comes to strange stories.

Top cities on the list include New York, Lincoln, Neb. And Madison, Wisc. Tampa, Florida, ranked 20th.

Some of Florida's odd reports carried by the AP and appearing  on 10Connects.com this year are:

* Man calls 911 after eatery runs out of lemonade -- Boyton Beach, FL

* Florida lotto winner seeks to open a nude dude ranch -- Brooksville, FL

* Dead shark left in Miami street after failed sale -- Miami, FL

* Man wearing sleeping bag as cape attempts robbery - Gainesville, FL

* Man allegedly flings jellyfish at teens at beach - Madeira Beach, FL

The strange news data was also broken down by city, which resulted in New York City easily winning the strangest city crown.
