UPDATE: ORLANDO, FL-- A Jacksonville promotions company says it will suspend sales of a blonde-haired doll that bears the name of a slain Florida toddler.

Showbiz Promotions was planning to sell its Caylee Sunshine doll, which is named for Caylee Anthony, for $29.99. But on its Web site Tuesday the company's president backed off the launch plan. Jaime Salcedo said in a statement that the company reversed course after "reviewing the response to our media introduction of the Sunshine Caylee Doll and listening to the advice of the general public."

Salcedo had previously said the company wants the doll to "be a tribute" to Caylee Anthony, whose body was found by a utility worker in December.

Casey Anthony, Caylee's mother, is charged with the girl's murder.

Jacksonville, Florida -- A Jacksonville-based promotions company that says it specializes in creating gifts from current news stories is selling Caylee Anthony dolls.

Showbiz Promotions is selling "The Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll" on its Web site for about $29.99. The doll has blond hair, stands 18 inches tall and wears a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

The company said it understands the topic is a sensitive issue, but wanted to raise awareness of crimes against children. The company said it purposely did not create the doll in Caylee's likeness.

The doll plays the song "You Are My Sunshine" when you push its belly, a song that Caylee was seen singing on a home video released shortly after she was declared missing.

Showbiz Promotions said it has no relation to the Anthony family, and that it will not get involved in the legal aspect of the case against Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony.

Casey Anthony, 22, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in her daughter's death. Caylee's remains were found last month in a wooded area near the Orange County home where she lived with her mother and grandparents.

Our news partners Local 6 News was attempting to reach the Anthony family for their reaction to the doll.
