Man angry over tax on soda pulls out submachine gun

(CBS) - Today, family members counted their blessings after Nahshon Shelton didn't want to pay the 22-cent tax on his soda, which costs $1.79.

The store owner said that Shelton ranted for several minutes, and then pulled a blue-steel Intratec .22-caliber submachine gun from his satchel.

While watching the security tape, the owner was telling the WBBM reporter what was happening, "He was saying to my co-worker that he's going to shoot him in the head 3 times in the head if he doesn't stop working here because he charged him the tax for the soda."

After the police did not shown up after 5 calls, the owner ventured out from behind the glass to confront Shelton.

Eventually the police showed up and arrested Shelton at the scene, he's now facing aggravated assault charges, among others.
