Brandon, Florida -- There are some days when the last thing you want to do is go to work, but to what lengths would you go to avoid going? Well, police say one man went so far as to stage a burglary at his home so he wouldn't have to go to work Monday, and instead, he ended up in jail.
Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies say during their investigation into the alleged burglary at Dwayne Yeager's home in the 1000 block of Bridlewood Way, they learned from a neighbor that he had made the whole thing up.
The neighbor told police Yeager had left his home around 6:30 a.m. and came back around 7:15 a.m. He was then seen walking in the front door and lifting the blinds and opening the front door. He then came back outside to wait in his front yard until deputies arrived. Also, the car Yeager told 911 dispatchers he saw driving away as he returned home was never seen by any of his neighbors.

When deputies confronted Yeager about the discrepancies in his story, he admitted he had made the whole thing up and ransacked his house so he wouldn't have to go to work. He said his wife was adamant that he go to work and he didn't want to. He also said he didn't think he could go to jail for staging a burglary. He was wrong. Yeager was arrested and charged with false information to law enforcement.
