A 5-year-old boy has been flown to All Children's Hospital after he was hit by a semi while trying to cross University Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
SARASOTA, Fla. -- A 5-year-old boy has been flown to All Children's Hospital after he was hit by a semi while trying to cross University Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the boy's parents were following beside him in their car as he tried to cross the road at Lockwood Ridge Road. The boy rode in front of a semi, the driver reportedly locked up his brakes and skidded to a stop, but still hit the boy.
Emergency crews flew the boy to All Children's Hospital and are hopeful he will survive.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
