A rare light night cluster of thunderstorms is moving through eastern Hernando and eastern Pasco counties. Expect very heavy rainfall, and possibly some small hail as we go through the middle of the night. If they hold together parts of the Tampa metro could be dealing with these storms in the early morning hours.

Looking ahead, look for sunny skies and comfortable temperatures to start each day for the rest of this week. If you need to get things done outside, the best time to do that the next few days will be from daybreak until about 11am. Once we get to the Noon hour the combination of humidity and temperatures will start to make for some dangerous Heat Indices (expected around 93-102 degrees).

Of course that's all leading up to a chance of afternoon thunderstorms that we typically see in the summer time. For Thursday we should see late afternoon storms firing along the I-75 corridor and east mostly. For Friday and Saturday there could be an earlier start to the storms and more could move closer to the Coastal Cities as the winds turn to the Northeast pushing showers to the Southwest. There will also be a little higher coverage of rainfall at around 40% both days.

The winds will pick up both days this weekend too from the Northeast at around 10-17mph. That could have an effect on boating, and other activities that depend on the wind speeds.
