Chapel Hill, North Carolina-- Researchers announce a health alert involving popular brands of baby soap that triggered POSITIVE results on marijuana tests.
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill researchers found newborns that were being washed with certain brands of baby soap had urine tests that came back POSITIVE for marijuana.
Here's a look at the brands they say produced a positive marijuana test:
- Johnson & Johnson's Head-to-Toe Baby Wash
- J&J Bedtime Bath
- CVS Night-Time Baby Bath
- Aveeno Soothing Relief Creamy Wash
- Aveeno Wash Shampoo
Researchers stress the babies did NOT experience any "high" symptoms but they suspect a chemical in the baby soap may be similar to the main ingredient in pot, or mimic it on tests.
Nurses became suspicious after an unusually large number of newborns had positive urine tests.
