Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. listens at left as Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney speaks during a news conference prior to a town hall-style meeting in Aston, Pa.
Tampa, Florida-- Though Sen. Marco Rubio offered his Republican National Convention speaking slot to Ann Romney, Rubio will remain the last speaker before Gov. Romney accepts the nomination Thursday.
Matt Rhoades, Romney for President Campaign Manager, released the following statement:
"Sen. Rubio was incredibly gracious to offer his speaking slot to Mrs. Romney, and we thank him for his kind offer. However, he will remain the last speaker in primetime on Thursday night before Gov. Romney accepts the nomination. In many ways, Sen. Rubio represents the future of the Republican Party and we can think of no better person to introduce Gov. Romney on this important night."
The RNC Primetime Speaker Line Up does, however, reflect some changes. Ann Romney will now speak on Tuesday night, and Gov. Susana Martinez will speak on Wednesday night.
