Friday will look a lot like Thursday with sunshine early and the heat quickly coming on. Scattered thunderstorms will move in by midday for some of us. Most of the afternoon and evening will contain scattered thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, lightning, and some gusty winds likely. Look for a high of 90 degrees and SW winds around 5 - 12mph.
As we continue to analyze and look at this weak Low in the Gulf (actually a piece of the remnants of "Isaac") it looks to move over just south of the I-10 Corridor Saturday overnight into Sunday midday. That will mean scattered showers and storms (heavier closer to the Low) will be expected. For now this far out, and the way the Models are reading, it does not look to be much more than that. The NHC is going with a 30% chance of Tropical development over the next 48 hours.
Since we are heading into a weekend, I will still keep an eye on this system so there are no surprises. For you, and planning your weekend, unless something drastic changes, I would not plan for much more than this being a rain maker, and if it continues to look so weak, some of us may even get much rain from this system so stay tuned friends and have a great Friday!
