Evening Scattered Thunderstorms, And Scattered Tuesday Afternoon Too
Models indicate we are going to keep scattered thunderstorms in the forecast a little later this evening than most typical summer evenings. Some of these storms will bring heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and thunder, and continue until about 1am.
Tuesday we have a stalled out Cold Front in the area, with the key word being "stalled". This is very typical for the first fronts of the late summer, early fall timeframe, and because it will take until Wednesday to "push through" it will still be pretty humid on Tuesday. I am forecasting a 40% coverage of storms around the Hillsborough, Pinellas County area, with a 50% coverage for Manatee, Sarasota, Polk, Highlands, Hardee, and DeSoto Counties.
Wednesday we should see our first taste of some lower humidity, and it looks like it will be very windy for at least three days straight. Forecast calls for Northeast Winds 10 - 25mph Wed.-Fri.
