(USA TODAY) -- There have been a lot of politicians today condemning the deadly embassy attack in Libya, but this statement from Rep. Keith Ellison has a particular relevance.
Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat, was the first Muslim elected to Congress.
In a speech on the House floor this morning, Ellison expressed his outrage at the attack in Benghazi that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three Americans on his diplomatic staff.
He also blasted an anti-Islam video that seemed to provoke demonstrators at the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, calling the film "amateurish and stupid."
"There's nothing in it, despite the fact that it is deliberately provocative, that could ever justify the murder of these innocent people," Ellison said about the video.
