North Port, Florida -- A 13-year-old boy was flown to All Children's Hospital Friday morning after he was hit by a car while trying to get to his bus stop.
A witness told North Port Police Brandon Robinette did not appear to see oncoming traffic when he crossed Chamberlain Boulevard heading east around 8:55 a.m.
34-year-old Michael Thomas, who was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger, tried to swerve out of the way but was not able to avoid Robinette.
