Thursday began with dry conditions but rain should develop with scattered storms this afternoon and into the evening. Rain will dissipate quickly this evening after 8-9 pm. Look for a 50% chance of rain today and 60% Friday.
A trough in the Gulf is funneling moisture up from the south which is why some have received over 2" of rain the past couple days. This does not change much through Saturday. Morning showers are possible for the Race For The Cure in St. Pete Saturday morning. But drier air tries to move in as a cold front moves through Sunday afternoon. This will cool us a bit and lower the humidity levels a little as well. Highs will drop back to the mid and upper 80s through Wednesday. It will be a dry start to the week Monday. Even cooler and drier air will move into the area by next weekend. That will really make it feel like fall!
Today: Showers and storms 50% will develop this afternoon drifting back toward the coast this evening. Winds will be ENE 10 mph to west with highs near 89.
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with only an isolated shower 10%. Winds will be light at ENE 5 mph with lows in the low to mid 70s.
