The nice weather continues today as we see temperatures back into the mid 80s. The humidity as been creeping back up with the easterly winds, but it is still tolerable as dew points are only in the low 60s. Having said that, there is enough moisture in the atmosphere to warrant a few clouds and even a very stray shower this afternoon.
The tropics are busy with Topical Storm Sandy in the Caribbean and Tropical Depression 19 in the open Atlantic. The track of Sandy will be close to the Bahamas and perhaps SE Florida, while TD 19 will likely become Tropical Storm Tony but stay out at sea. Stay tuned to the forecast as Sandy will likely become a hurricane and move through the Bahamas. Right now it will not be much of a factor in our weather, but models have shifted a little to the west so we should keep our eyes peeled! I don't think we get a direct hit, but we may get a little more wind out of it in the 20-30 mph range...on the high side...by Thursday into Friday.
Today: Partly cloudy and warm with winds ENE 15 mph. There will be a 10% chance for a shower mainly from Tampa east and south. Highs will top out in the mid 80s.
Tonight: Partly cloudy to clear skies with winds ENE 5 mph.
Marine Forecast: Small Craft Exercise Caution this morning as winds are blowing NE 15-20 kts and seas are 2-4'. The winds and seas will decrease a little this afternoon but look for higher winds and seas by Thursday as Sandy moves by to our east.
