The band was named national champions in its division (AA) winning awards for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding General Effect and Outstanding Visual Performance (a tie with Marian Catholic H.S. from Illinois).
Only a dozen schools were picked to perform in the event's Grand National Finals. Tarpon Springs was the only Florida to make the Top 12. The band fell just one-tenth of a point behind the top three.
Carmel High School from Indiana took home the national title.
Congratulations Tarpon Springs High!
