Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Ray Charron spent several hours eluding Pasco deputies in a very unusual spot -- he ran and climbed up in some trees!
On Friday, Nov. 16, around 2 p.m., Pasco County deputies say Charron pushed an adult off of the bike and loaded it in his pickup truck and took off.
When a deputy confronted Charron, he fought that deputy and decided the best way to avoid arrest for theft was to climb 30-foot high tree.
The deputy called for backup and the Land O' Lakes community of Lake Padgett Estates soon became quite a scene with deputy patrol cars, flashing lights, and television cameras. Finally, after 11 hours Charron surrendered.
He has been charged with strong armed robbery, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
