TAMPA, Fla. -- Thomas Riggs and his son joined the line of people waiting for the Wonder Hostess Bakery Outlet to open on Sunday morning. David Harrington's family waited for a few hours before checking out the outlet. But there were no Twinkies left to purchase.
Every box sold out within half an hour of the outlet opening its doors to sell Hostess products at a bargain.
"The chocolate. The chocolate is the best part about all of [the products]," says eight-year-old Cadence Harrington. "They taste amazing."
Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day until the outlets sell out, customers can buy items like Zingers and loaves of bread for 50 cents each.
Compare that to prices online, where people have bid $150 for two dozen boxes of Hostess products. Memorabilia, like t-shirts, watches, and signs are going for even more.
"It's just an American icon. They've been around forever," says David Harrington. "I just can't believe they're not going to be around anymore."
You can check out which outlets are closest to you on the Hostess site.
