Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Brandon Davies recorded a double-double
with 21 points and 10 rebounds as he helped guide the BYU Cougars to an 85-60
win over the Montana Grizzlies in non-conference action at EnergySolutions
Arena.
Davies, who didn't commit a single personal foul on the night, added six
assists, four steals and a couple of blocked shots for the Cougars (5-2) in
the triumph. Tyler Haws accounted for 18 points and Josh Sharp 13 to go along
with eight boards.
The Grizzlies (3-2) were paced by Kareem Jamar with 17 points and nine boards,
followed by Keron DeShields with 12 points in the setback.
BYU opened the contest on a 14-2 run and never looked back, the team
converting 6-of-10 shots behind the three-point line in the period in order to
establish a 42-31 lead at the break.
In the second half Montana simply could not keep up as it shot a mere 29.2
percent from the floor, including 2-of-7 beyond the arc, on the way to the 25-
point loss.
In addition to holding the Grizzlies to just 38.8 percent shooting from the
floor for the game, BYU also forced 17 turnovers, which the squad traded in
for 26 points.
