Fort Myers, Florida (News-Press) -- A Lee County deputy has been fired after an internal affairs
investigation found he had sexually explicit photos on his work computer
and had allowed a woman to be photographed topless while in his patrol
vehicle.
The internal affairs investigation found Deputy
Robert Hamer displayed conduct unbecoming of an officer and violated
department rules and regulations.
The investigation began
July 30 after Hamer's wife notified the sheriff's office there had been a
domestic incident between her and her husband, and she believed she
found pictures in his possession that violated the sheriff's office
policy.
She then sent several of the photos to
investigators, one of which was of an unknown woman sitting in the
driver's seat of an unmarked patrol car. The woman was not wearing a
shirt, and her breasts were exposed in the picture, according to the
investigation report.
Investigators were able to determine the vehicle was assigned to Hamer at the time the picture was taken.
Investigators also recovered several sexually explicit images of Hamer and his wife on Hamer's work computer.
