MIAMI - Coast Guard crewmembers medically evacuated a 53-year-old woman who was kayaking in the vicinity of Mule Key, Florida on Saturday.
Coast Guard sector Key West said it received word from a good Samaritan of a woman suffering from seizures during a kayaking tour.
A Coast Guard rescue boat was launched to recover the woman. She was taken to Station Key West where emergency medical services where waiting.
"Good Samaritans play an important role by acting as the Coast Guard's eyes and ears while on scene," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Scott W. Fischer.
