Wichita, KS (Sports Network) - Led by 16 points from Cleanthony Early, the
Wichita State Shockers registered a lopsided 79-50 victory over the Missouri
State Bears in a Missouri Valley Conference tilt at Charles Koch Arena.
Early shot 5-of-8 from the field with eight rebounds for the Shockers (20-5,
9-4), who snapped a three-game slump. Nick Wiggins scored 11 points, while
Malcolm Armstead and Tekele Cotton added 10 each. Ehimen Orukpe led all
players in rebounding with 10 boards.
Marcus Marshall was the only player for Missouri State (7-18, 5-8) to score in
double figures, tallying a career-high 19 points on 6-of-10 from the field.
The Bears have lost two in a row and three of their last four.
The Shockers shot 7-of-11 from 3-point range in the first half and led 42-27
at halftime.
Wichita State pulled even farther away in the second half, shooting 50 percent
from the field and holding the Bears to 31.4 percent.
The Shockers dominated the glass, earning a 47-22 rebounding edge.
