SEMINOLE, Fla. (AP) - Law enforcement officers and residents of Seminole helped free an alligator that got stuck in a storm drain.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the alligator got its snout stuck in the roadside drain in Seminole on Friday.
A concerned citizen contacted the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived they found the 8-foot gator had slipped entirely into the drain.
A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission trapper, deputies and onlookers helped pull the alligator out.
Wildlife officials plan to transport the animal to a gator farm.
