TAMPA, Florida -- We could be headed for round two in the case of radio rivals Todd "MJ" Schnitt and Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem.
10 News has learned that MJ's team anticipates filing a motion to appeal the verdict sometime on Monday.
It's not yet clear on what grounds they could seek an appeal, but one legal analyst told 10 News that Phil Campbell's arrest may not be in play.
"The jury said none of them heard anything about it. So how could that play a part in their verdict? It played no part, and therefor it's not that significant," said Joe Episcopo.
Campbell was arrested on DUI charges during the trial after a night of drinking with legal assistant Melissa Personius, who works for the same law firm representing Bubba.
MJ's attorneys claim that Campbell was set up, but the judge did not agree and decided against ruling a mistrial.
"There's probably about six of ten other legal issues, objections that were during the trial that will be brought up," said Episcopo.
Once the paperwork is filed as anticipated, Bubba's attorneys say they plan to be available to take questions from the media.
