Mulberry, Florida -- The man wanted in two armed robberies in Lakeland Saturday and a bank robbery in Plant City Friday was arrested Sunday afternoon.
Polk County Sheriff's detectives spotted William Mounts around 3:25 p.m. Sunday in Lakeland and arrested him on a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office warrant for the Plant City bank robbery.
While in custody, detectives identified Mounts as the suspect wanted in two armed gas station robberies in the Lakeland area on Saturday, Feb. 16.
The first robbery occurred just after midnight at the Circle K gas station at County Line Road and Cornett Road. The second robbery occurred around 10 p.m. at the BP gas station at Pipkin Road and Yates Road. Detectives say Mounts wore a mask as he robbed the stores with a silver semi-automatic handgun.
Mounts is being held at the Polk County Jail where he remains without bond for the out-of-county warrant.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says this isn't the first time Mounts has been at the county jail.
He was arrested four other times on charges listed below:
March 2002 - Armed Robbery, Armed Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Escape and Burglary (Okeechobee County charges)
November 2003 - Armed Robbery, Wearing Bulletproof Vest During Felony, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing to Elude, Possession of Marijuana & Paraphernalia, DWLSR, Reckless Driving

August 2012 - Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
