Tampa, Florida - The erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey was nicknamed "mommy porn" when it was on the New York Times best sellers list.
It goes without saying that some businesses would try to capitalize on the book's popularity, but some parents say what a a popular retailer is taking it too far.
"Icing", a jewelry and accessory retailer owned by another popular, teen accessory store, Claire's, is selling merchandise marketed from the novel.
They include handcuff bracelets, Smartphone covers and other costume jewelry- some of which feature phrases used in the book.
But some parents believe the product is targeted toward kids because the store is popular with girls as young as pre-teens.
"That store is for kids, too. I go with my daughter. She likes the hats, the accessories and everything," said Ydalis Guedez, a Bay Area parent.
Icing's Facebook page has no shortage of people who love the idea, but plenty who hate it too.
One woman who wrote: "Why would you promote this to young teens who shop at your store? You have just lost a customer."
The company hasn't responded to 10 News' request for comment, but did post this comment on Facebook that reads:
"Thanks for sending us your thoughts. We love our customers and always want to hear what is on your mind. Our Icing stores are targeted to appeal to young women ages 10 and up. We choose our fabulous jewelry and accessories carefully and hope we can inspire her, cause her to smile and help her say something about herself. We do hope to see you in our stores soon."
The store also has pictures of a model who appears to be a teen sporting other types of merchandise, and offers free ear piercings - things popular with adolescents.
10 News producer Amy Marinec went into the Icing store at Citrus Park Mall on Thursday and was told that teenagers are purchasing the Fifty Shades of Grey merchandise.
"She said we are actually getting teenagers in here. They like the handcuffs on the bracelets."
The group One Million Moms is organizing against Icing, and is calling for the story to stop carrying the Fifty Shades of Grey Merchandise.
