Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas pulls into Port of Tampa Monday morning after delayed due to fog Sunday night.
TAMPA, Florida -- A Royal Caribbean cruise ship has made it back to the Port of Tampa after dense fog delayed it.
The Jewel of the Seas was supposed to dock at 7:00 a.m. Monday morning. Instead, it sailed in at about 8:40 a.m.
According to port officials, the ship tried to come in earlier on Sunday night to avoid the fog, but couldn't.
The delay put a kink in many passengers plans, seen leaving the port scrambling to catch cabs to the airport.
"I'm going to tell this guy here to drive as fast as he can. I am throwing money at him," said Andy Spriggs, who was heading home to Detroit.
According to the Coast Guard, the fog also delayed two cruise ships coming into the port by eight hours Sunday.
The Jewel of the Seas leaves the port again Monday at 4:30 p.m. Port officials said the late arrival it could cause a delay.
