Palmetto, FL-- With instructions of "friendly competition" and "have fun", an unidentified driver took a run at 10 News Sports Anchor Dave Wirth during the annual Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Driver & Media Karting Competition.

As the accompanying video will show, the driver forced Wirth off the track during a pass entering the straightaway.

Fortunately, Wirth's advanced driving skills kept his Go-Kart on the track, and avoided disaster.

The mystery driver disappeared from the track immediately after the race, and now faces sanctions from the National Media Go-Kart Association.

Wirth was unhurt.
