Spring Hill, Florida -- Two Spring Hill middle school students were arrested for possession of marijuana after an alleged exchange of a pot brownie on campus Friday.
Hernando County Sheriff's deputies met with the principal of Fox Middle School who told them he received an anonymous tip that a 14-year-old girl was possibly in possession of marijuana.
When the girl was in the principal's office, she handed over the brownie and told him it contained marijuana and that she got it from another male student, according to the arrest report.
The girl told deputies the night before the boy had text messaged her that he found some candy with "pot" in it and when he got to first period Friday morning he gave it to her. She said she tried to give it back to him but he wouldn't take it so she kept it until she was taken to the front office.
The 14-year-old boy told deputies the girl had texted him the night before and asked him for marijuana, so he got the candy from a friend and brought it to her during first period.
At this time, deputies have charged both the girl and the boy with possession of marijuana in the amount of 30.5 grams.
