Hernando County, Florida-- Hernando has received quite the honor from the Florida Library Association, as their very own public library has been named 2013's "Florida Library of the Year".

According to the county, increased computer classes, instructional programs, offerings for children and outstanding services to all users at the Hernando County Public Library played a part in landing them the honor.

"Our Kindle lending program, community partnerships, cost saving strategies and marketing efforts all also helped to earn the Hernando County Public Library this top award," one county representative explained.

The Florida Library Association's website says each year, they select a library that "demonstrates outstanding service to the community it serves."

The Hernando County Public Library will be recognized at the closing session of the 2013 annual conference taking place in Orlando on May 3.
