Largo, Florida -- Pinellas County Detectives are asking for the public's assistance with identifying two suspects who scammed a senior citizen out of $18,000.
On Feb. 27, at the Walmart in the 1100 block of North Missouri Avenue in Largo, two women approached the victim in the parking lot. A conversation ensued about the two suspects' desire to obtain American citizenship. Both claimed they needed $60,000 for various documents in order to obtain citizenship and asked the victim for help.
Wanting to assist the suspects, the victim drove them to a nearby bank and withdrew $18,000 and gave it to the suspects.
According to reports, once the women had the victim's money, they fabricated a story and left the area.
Both suspects are described as Hispanic females, between 25 and 30 years old. One was seen wearing a multi-colored flowered blouse and blue jeans, and the other was wearing a black and white striped shirt and dark pants.
