(WBTV) Rescue teams have located two missing hikers after searching through the night on Tuesday in the rugged and steep trails of the Pisgah National Forest for more than eight hours.
WBTV has learned that teams found the 22-year-old woman and her 80-year-old friend who went missing on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old is hypoglycemic and was given energy bars and nutrients by crews so they would be able to get her out of the forest.
A search began when a woman came out of the forest in the Jonas Ridge area Tuesday evening. She said that the pair had gone to take pictures and had gone missing.
Again, both missing hikers have been found by rescue crews on Wednesday morning.
