ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- A young Bay area boy no longer has the chance to grow up with his mother after her lifeless body was discovered in a St. Petersburg apartment Sunday afternoon.
A neighbor and friend of 42-year-old Tracy Pulido found her body around 3 p.m. He says her little boy was at a playdate when it happened inside an apartment that the mother and son shared in the 600 block of 40th Street North in St. Pete.
10 News spoke with Tracy's neighbor, Tyrone Covington, who found her after her sister become worried about her. He says Tracy's apartment was wide open.
Covington says, "I'm pretty tore up inside. She was a good friend of mine, you know, and I liked her a lot. She was a good person."
He says Tracy's son is now being cared for by her sister. He describes Tracy as a good mother and a wonderful person.
St. Petersburg police are investigating trying to figure out who would want to kill her. They say the motive for the murder is not clear. They also say there have not identified any suspects at this time.
