PHOENIX -- Authorities say a pregnant woman and her baby are in stable
condition after being run over by a suspected impaired driver.
Phoenix police say 25-year-old Guadalupe Castaneda has been arrested in the case.
They say Castaneda reportedly admitted to drinking 30 beers during
the course of the night before driving around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say Castaneda allegedly tried to steal a vehicle from a parking lot.
They say Castaneda sideswiped a man and struck two women working at a taco stand as he attempted to flee in the stolen car.
Police say one of the victims is four months pregnant. She suffered
fractures to her legs and arms as well as broken ribs and bruised lungs.
They say the other woman suffered minor injuries and the man wasn't hurt.
