Pinellas Park, Florida -- A man has been arrested after fracturing the legs of a 6-month-old child.
According to detectives, Derek Adams was changing the victim's diaper when he became frustrated and began to squeeze the victim's legs. He applied excessive pressure and pushed down on the victim's legs causing fractures below both knees.
The 6-month-old victim was in the care of Adams at the time of the incident. The injuries were discovered when the mother took the child to the hospital due to her being fussy.
During an interview with detectives on Wednesday, August 28 Adams admitted to the allegations.
Adams was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident where he is currently being held with a $50,000 bond.
