Manatee County, Florida -- A man was shot at by his ex-wife's new boyfriend after knocking on their door.
Early Sunday morning, around 1:30 a.m., Edward Stidd drove to a home on Blue Fish Circle in an attempt to rekindle his relationship with his ex-wife. Stidd knocked on the door numerous times and also looked into the windows to see if she was home. When nobody answered the door, Stidd left the area.
Reportedly, Stidd returned a short time later and began knocking on the door again, at which point the ex-wife's current boyfriend, Bryan Kelsey, answered the door with an Ak47 style assault rifle. Stidd was leaving the driveway car when Kelsey fired one round in the direction of the car.
The projectile and chunks of roadway ricocheted upward and struck the passenger side of the vehicle resulting in numerous dents and holes. Stidd was not injured and waited for deputies at a nearby Walgreens.
Kelsey was arrested and later transported to the jail. Detectives located the Ak47 style assault rifle, which was seized as evidence.
